Junior Schools Cross Country League Autumn 2006

A strong St Paul's team competed on Tuesday 15th October 2006 in the first Mendip Junior Cross Country League fixture this season.
Leading the way was Morgan Withers (Yr4) who won 1st place in the opening race of seventy-nine Lower School boys. Also competing in this race was Charlie Jupp (Yr 3), who managed an excellent 42nd place in his first ever cross country race.
The next success came in the Upper School Girls race with Vera Assis (Yr6) also coming in 1st place closely followed by Naomi Marable (Yr6) in 5th place. Abigail Gibbons (Yr5) ran a very successful race in her first ever of these inter school fixtures coming an excellent 17th place. Abigail was closely followed by Elisabete Assis (Yr6) who came in 26th place. Seventy-one girls took part in this race and these fantastic results mean that the St Paul's Upper School Girls Team start the season as second overall, only one point behind St Aldhelms of Doulting.
The final race, Upper School Boys, brought further success for the St Paul's team with Curtis Stevens (Yr6) finishing in 2nd place, Harry Jupp (Yr5) in 15th, Lewis Clarke (Yr5) in 39th, Jamie Bowles (yr5) in 40th and Tyrone Bulger (Yr5) in 41st. Next to come in were Sam Burr (yr5) in 48th, Ian Key (Yr6) 58th, Josh Davis (Yr6) 79th and Veyndan Stuart (Yr5) in 100th place, leaving the Upper School Boys Team in a strong 5th position overall.
