Z008 CROSS COUNTRY

Well done to the following pupils who all took part in the latest fixture of the JUNIOR MENDIP SCHOOLS CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE.  Held at Edgarley ( Glastonbury ) on Tuesday 22^nd January. Although the weather was dry recent rain had made some areas very slippy underfoot.  This didn’t stop several St Paul ’s pupils from achieving a personal best performance.

In the Lower School Girl’s Race (Yrs 3&4) First in was Kayleigh Sullivan with a terrific 21^st place a personal best for Kayleigh.  Next in was Katie Lewis 31^st closely followed another personal best from Larissa Curtis in 40^th, Kacie Short 41^st and Lauren Bowles 45^th.

The Lower School Girls came 8^th and so retain their 8^th position overall in the LSG league.

Ninety three boys lined up for the Lower School Boy’s Race. First in for St Paul ’s was Finley Clarke in 6^th place a personal best for Finley.  Next in was Corey Taylor 12^th (PB), Charlie Jupp 19^th and Owen Penny 20^th.  The strong St Paul ’s team continued pouring in with Morgan Purchase 29^th , Connor Tennear 31^st , Tyron Williams 34^th , Dexter Short 41^st , Matthew Durbin 43^rd , Ricky Turner 45^th , Declan Barham 51^st (PB), Jacob Elliot 54^th and Oliver Howell 66^th .

The Lower School Boys came 4^th and are 3^rd position overall in the league.  Finley Clarke currently holds 7^th overall in the LSB league.

In the Upper School Girl’s Race of 71 competitors Abigail Gibbons had a fantastic lead to once again come 1^st.  Abi is now 1^st in the USG league after two wins and a second place.  Following was Olivia Noble 38^th , Chloe Stevens 41^st , Amy Gibbons 46^th (PB), Chloe Noble 50^th and Megan Parr 52^nd . 

Once again the Upper School Girl’s Team came 6^th and keep their 6^th place overall in the league. 

A strong Upper School Boys team stood on the start line of 99 competitors.  First in was Shane Williams with a PB performance of 9^th place.  Close behind were Harry Jupp 12^th , Lewis Clarke 18^th and Morgan Withers 20^th .  Following were Jonathon Durbin 40^th , Jamie Bowles 49^th , Rowan Harding 51^st , Tyson Lippiat 52^nd (PB) and Veydan Stuart 91^st (PB).

The USB Team came 3^rd in the race and continue to be extremely consistent in holding their bronze position in the league overall.   Morgan withers holds 9^th place in the USB league which is excellent for a year 5.
