CURRICULUM

The Curriculum to which each child is entitled has been laid down by the National Curriculum, it provides a framework that ensures a natural progression and development of the childs skills as she/he movesthrough the school. The basic requirements under the National Curriculum include,
The "core" subjects;Religious Education, English ( often known as Literacy), Mathematics ( known as Numeracy), Science and Information Communication Technology.
Art, History, Geography, Music, Physical Education and Design Technology are the "foundation" subjects.
The school curriculum also addresses cross-curricular issues such as Personal and Social Education, Health, Citizenship Equal Opportunities and multi-cultural Education.

The curriculum is often taught in a thematic way and not necessarily in subject packages. Each project is carefully designed to enable all children to learn effectively at an appropriate level.
Children with Additional Educational Needs will receive a differentiated National Curriculum. The school is sensitive to individual problems and needs and remedial help is aimed at bringing children up to their potential.
Exceptionally able pupils may be withdrawn for enrichment courses.
